Proprioception or kinesthesia is not commonly known but it plays an important role in our self- regulation, coordination, posture, body awareness, our ability to focus and speech. It is the sense that lets us know where our different body parts are, how they move and how much strength our muscles need to use.
This 90-minute webinar is all about proprioception. Join us and learn all about it! Karine Gagner, CEO of fdmt and Sarah Glovasky M.S., OTR/L at Therapro, will present a deep dive on proprioception's definition and its role, signs of kid’s proprioceptive dysfunction, as well as classroom and at home activities that provide proprioceptive input for optimal learning and focused conditions.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar attendees will be able to:
1.) Define proprioception and identify signs of proprioceptive dysfunction.
2.) Identify at least two activities that provide proprioceptive input.
About the presenters
Karine Gagner, president of fdmt. Karine founded the company with all of her heart in 2002 to fill a need: to help students with learning difficulties. Her in-depth knowledge of tools, resources and how to use them wisely allowed her to build a unique company specializing in helpful tools which are appreciated by parents, teachers, and other professionals working with children.
Sarah Glovasky, M.S., OTR/L is an occupational therapist with over twelve years of experience working primarily in school based practice. Her current roles include supervision and management as well as direct treatment for an elementary aged caseload.
