April 9, 2024 - 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM EST
Webinar description
Dr. Debra Em Wilson is a reading specialist and Founder of S’cool Moves, Inc. She focuses on collaboration between teachers and support staff using sensory-based movement. Debra is providing an introduction to her new book, The Resilient Learner’s Backpack: Polyvagal-guided Collaborative Activities for Focus, Regulation, and Motivation. This is Debra’s complementary activity book to The Polyvagal Path to Joyful Learning: Transforming Classrooms One Nervous System at a Time. Attendees will learn the latest research on resilience and how to increase resilience through using polyvagal-guided activities, extending the mind using embodied learning, and understanding the three types of cognition that increases the effectiveness of clinic sessions and classroom learning. Deepening one’s grasp of using movement to shift nervous system states, retune the vagal brake for easier transitions, and helping humans become better operators of their nervous systems are key takeaways from the webinar.
