Webinar description
This course really gets to the heart of the matter when preparing our lessons /lesson plans for therapists that work in the Pediatric setting. This short-course looks at learning styles and makes us all familiar with our on personal learning styles and points out the (5) different styles and gives tips and tricks on how to prepare our sessions taking into account all of these learning styles. This fun, engaging short course will show you how to figure out your own, personal learning style so that it meshes with the students you are instructing! This course has great foundational information and is a great refresher for the seasoned Occupational Therapist or COTA.
Course Objectives::
1. The therapist will be able to list the (5) five main learning styles and be able to pair these with an activity analysis for greater success when teaching an individual skill set;
2. The therapist will be able to list (3) three characteristics that are vital to the success of an activity analysis;
3. The therapist will recognize that a “mismatch between a therapist’s instructional style” and a student’s learning style will result in a lack of a connection, no comprehension, no retention and no formal application;
4. The therapist will be able to label at least (2) strategies for each type of multisensory learner (Auditory, Visual, Tactile, Kinesthetic and Multisensory) learning styles.
