Vocational Planning with I Can Work! Module 1: Job Readiness

The I Can Work! Curriculum is a 5-module course designed to integrate communication skills with hands-on prevocational training in the areas of job readiness, clerical, retail, food service, and the grocery industry. This differentiated, hands-on curriculum utilizes visual supports and data collection systems all designed to build a strong, consistent, pre-vocational foundation for all individuals. This in-depth webinar is designed to introduce and break down step-by-step Module 1: Job Readiness. The job readiness module presents the first step in a multi-layered process for introducing and educating young adults in the area of vocation. Module 1 focuses on vocation-related vocabulary, the application process, expectations and communication in the workplace as well as a range of soft skill building lessons and activities.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will learn how to facilitate and adapt a range of vocationally focused Module 1: Job Readiness lesson plans and activities to meet the range of needs for all individuals;
2. Participants will learn how to implement role playing activities and video modeling related to Module 1: Job Readiness work-focused situations;
3. Participants will learn how to create and track pre-vocational activities paired with reflections as well as implement a variety of vocational data collection systems.
