Description: Construct a marble maze on a Design Board with a kid-safe power tool while addressing fine motor, visual perceptual, motor planning and problem solving skills!
Also, a STEM skills extravaganza! Kids put their critical thinking skills to the test as they explore principles of science and engineering to complete maze making challenges
How to use it: Use a kid-friendly power drill and colorful bolts to attach 15 track pieces of varying lengths and shapes onto a Design Board that is vertically self-standing by 2 large "feet" (included) or can be suspended on a wall (brackets included). Ten large cards are included with great ideas: one side shows the Design Board with the "start" track, an "end" track and shows the tracks needed to complete the Marble Maze. Not sure how to finish the challenge? Turn the card over and see the “solution.” Drop the ball to test the track and make adjustments as needed.
Or, just use your imagination and come up with your own mazes!
What’s in the box:
1, 12 x 10” Design Board
2 large "feet" (supports) to hold Board vertically on a flat surface and 2 Wall Brackets to mount on wall
15 marble track pieces
Kid-friendly power drill (Drill requires 3 AAA batteries (not included))
20 colorful plastic bolts
Ball
10 double-sided Maze Challenge Cards.
Instructional Guide for Getting Started; Battery Installation, etc.
Adaptability:
Modify the Challenge Level: Mazes can be as simple or as complex as the child making them wants them to be.
Build Fine Motor Skills: Design & Drill affords many opportunities for fine motor development. Can you turn and manipulate maze pieces using just one hand? How about trying to pick up and place the colorful bolts with just two fingers? Can you use your fingers to twist the bolts into place?
Executive Function Skills: Follow the directions to build a maze or plan your own. Either way critical thinking, planning, and reasoning skills are needed for successful execution!
