Description:
Splat games are simple, fast-paced games that provide practice for early reading skills. Splat games take almost no time to learn and set up; within minutes of opening the box, young learners are ready to compete and show what they know. Each of the Splat games works on specific skills:

• Alphabet Splat is geared toward pre-K learners with a focus on practicing letter recognition. For example ‘Find the word that begins with A’.
• Beginning and Ending Sounds Splat is geared toward grade K-2 learners with a focus on sound recognition.  For example ‘Find a word that begins with the same sound as at’.
• Synonyms Splat is geared toward grade 2+ learners with a focus on finding related words. For example ‘Find a word that means the same as hot’. 
• Opposites Splat is geared toward grade 2+ learners  with a focus on finding words that have different meanings. For example ‘Find a word that is the opposite of break’.
• Rhyming Words Splat is geared toward grade K-1 learners with a focus on words that rhyme. For example ‘Find a word that rhymes with pink’.

How To Use It:
The caller reads the Calling Card aloud, players then scan the cards in front of them. If the player's card matches the description from the calling  cards, the player says "SPLAT!" and flips the cards over. The first player to flip over all of their cards wins.
