The Sleep Tight weighted blanket helps children and adults from three years and older calm down to get to sleep and stay asleep. Swaddling, which is gentle pressure from a blanket, has been used to soothe and help promote sleep since ancient times. The gentle deep pressure you get from using our Sleep Tight blanket gives a similar experience as swaddling.
The Sleep Tight is designed with a curved out portion at the top. This innovative design allows the blanket to contour around the shoulders and under the chin for a great fit and maximum comfort. Never place the blanket over the face. To concentrate the weight of the blanket on the body, The Sleep Tight is intentionally designed to be smaller than a regular blanket to most effectively distribute the weight on the body instead of on the bed. We have chosen a soft corduroy fabric to further encourage calming down for sleep.
These blankets are durable. The pellets are inserted into a fabric bag and then into the blankets so that they are double protected against coming out of the product. This "pocketed construction" technique also keeps them evenly distributed in their chambers, providing better coverage over the user. This extra detail is a value added to our products by providing lasting comfort and durability. In addition, all the edges are double stitched to add to the durability of the blanket.
These blankets are easy to wash. The Sleep Tight Weighted Blanket is made with 100% cotton corduroy and filled with a non-toxic and hypoallergenic PET pellet material which is BPA and phthalate free. These pellets have been used in the blankets for years and have had only excellent results with durability and safety.
Washing/Drying Instructions: You may machine wash your Sommerfly Sleep Tight and you may dry it in the dryer on low heat or on a drying rack. For the Medium, Large and Extra Large Sleep Tight sizes please check your washer and dryer instructions for weight recommendations. It may be better to wash these in a commercial washer and dryer.
