How to use it:
Fine Motor Skill
Place Tactile Search and Match in front of the child.
Allow time for the child to get familiar with the manipulative
Ask the child to remove all the blocks from the board
Ask the child: How do you feel when you touch the texture? Can you trace along the texture on the block?
Encourage the child to strength fine motor skills and explore the texture by themselves.
Color Identification
Place Tactile Search and Match in front of the child.
Allow time for the child to get familiar with the manipulative
Ask the child to remove all the blocks from the board
Line up all the blocks in front of the child. Ask: What colors do you see here?
Have the child point to point and name the colors.
Ask: "I'm looking for "blue." Can you give me the blue? Now, I am looking for "orange." Can you me the orange block?"
Have child choose the color that matches the one you named
If child struggles to find the color, give hints by. showing the correct color and ask the child the find the same one.
