How To Use It
Kokolingo is a user-friendly, web-based app. You can log in from a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or desktop. Enjoy fun speech therapy exercises wherever you are. Achieve your long term articulation goals for your child through 6 complexity levels:

Level 1: Single Syllable Speech Sound Exercises. Let’s start with the basics. Pirate Lucky provides memorable auditory, visual, and tactile cues that will help your child:
- Learn where to place the tongue, lips, teeth, and jaw when trying to make a specific sound
- Move their mouth correctly to pronounce single syllable sounds
- Produce the most basic target sounds like “puh”, “kuh”, or “tuh”
Level 2: Listening and Differentiating Similar Sounds. The ability to listen carefully is a prerequisite for correct speech production. Since many sounds in the English language are very similar, it can be difficult to distinguish between them (e.g. /s/ and /z/). In this stage, your child will learn:
- How to listen carefully in order to differentiate similar sounds
- Repeat correct sounds and use them appropriately
Level 3: Speech Sound Targets Exercises. This stage makes the speech therapy extra enjoyable! Through funny words and silly activities, your child will be able to:
- Practice speech sound targets next to different vowels, whether in the beginning, middle, or end of words
- Try unique variations of words that will challenge the placement of tongue, jaws, teeth, and lips as their mouth prepares to move fluently into the next sound
Level 4: Correctly Articulating Words. Games in this stage will take your child’s speech practice to the next level as they start making target sounds in real words. The activities and exercises include:
- Words presented in increasing order of syllable complexity
- Target sounds positioned in the beginning, middle, and end of the words
- Word search where your child will look for words hidden behind objects
- Virtual flashcards
- A memory match
Level 5: Speaking in Sentences. For kids who are becoming more automatic in their sound production, the next step is to practice putting those sounds into longer phrases and sentences. Games in this level will help your child:
- Expand their skills by sequencing many sounds quickly next to each other
- Become more proficient in generalizing their articulation skills and maintaining accurate production of the speech sound within longer phrases or sentences
Level 6: Telling Stories. The final stage puts everything they learned in the first 5 levels together. It presents target sounds in sentences within a fun, engaging short story. Activities in this level will have:
- Visual cues to help your child understand the story as it unfolds
- Exercises that will motivate your child to practice producing target sounds within a longer sequence of words
