Although intended for teachers, this is a "must have" booklet for every occupational therapist working with children who have fine motor difficulties. The book begins with a great 3-page chart listing fine motor and handwriting problems, the joint or area of hand needing attention, and a list of activities to help that area. In the next section of the book, activities are grouped by areas of fine motor concentration, beginning with motions that involve the elbow, the wrist, digits and hand arches. Each activity section begins with an overview of the development of the joint or part of the hand and lists behaviors that indicate immature development of that area. Activities, many with illustrations, and supplemental notes complete each section. This book is chock-full of great information.
