Description: A sophisticated strategy game for 2 players. The classic dots and boxes game, but no paper required! Whoever builds the most squares wins. Several levels of difficulty makes this a great game for all ability levels.
How To Use It:
First set up your game board. Choose either the beginner or expert sheet and place it on the perforated game board. Then position the black pegs as indicated by the black circles marked on the sheet. Now you are ready to play!
Each player takes a turn joining two of the black pegs with a wall. If a player succeeds in closing a square (by placing the 4th wall) he can put a button peg of his color in the square he created.
The winner is the one who can close the greatest number of boxes!
What’s In The Box:
1 perforated game board
1 beginner level sheet (game board overlay)
1 expert level sheet (game board overlay)
100 button pegs
36 sheet-pinning black pegs
2 sticker sheets
2 peg baskets

Adaptability: Dots and Boxes provides many therapeutic benefits:
Fine Motor Skill Development: Picking up and placing the walls, pegs and square markers are all great for small muscle development in the hand. Further hand skill development by holding multiple pegs or wall pieces in the palm of one hand, try to move just one peg or wall piece to the tips of the fingers for placement on the board.
Cognitive Development: Develop executive function skills like planning and reasoning.
Language Development: Dots and Boxes affords multiple opportunities for communicative exchanges like “my turn/ your turn”.
Hand Eye Coordination: Accurately placing the pegs and walls on the game board is a great way to get the hands and eyes working together.
Visual Perceptual Skills: Dots and Boxes is a fun way to develop concepts like spatial awareness and reasoning!
