Comprehensive Language Assessments measure all three language areas; receptive language, expressive language, and social communication.

Expressive and Receptive Language Expressive language tests measure the ability to use words and sentences to express thought and ideas. Test areas may include; vocabulary, semantics, syntax, morphology, and or code switching. Receptive language tests measure the ability to understand what is heard. Test areas may include the ability to comprehend sounds, words, concepts, grammar, and/or written information.

Social communication tests measure the ability to interact with others using words, voice, facial expressions, body language and eye contact.
