Ready, Set, Write! is a handwriting development program that works in conjunction with any handwriting curriculum (i.e.: D’Nealian, Handwriting Without Tears, First Strokes, etc.). Ready, Set, Write! consists of a 57 minute training video and accompanying 56-page manual on how to implement Ready, Set, Write! for the general education classroom and Ready, Set, Write! Handwriting Groups for students who need a more structured handwriting intervention program.
- Ready, Set, Write! video and manual includes a step-by-step guide to presenting in-services on handwriting development as well as activities to implement in the classroom
- The Ready, Set, Write! video/manual illustrates the developmental sequence of handwriting and the ten sensory motor and six visual perceptual skills of handwriting.
- The video/manual also define guidelines for teaching handwriting in the general education classroom as well as developmentally appropriate lesson plans using education-centered activities that can be implemented with little or no change in classroom routines or extra materials.
- The last portion of the video/manual illustrates how Ready, Set, Write! Handwriting Groups can be implemented for the student who requires a more structured, small group intervention program for handwriting development and includes illustration of readiness programs as well as activities for letter formation, kinesthesia, directionality, and generalization.
